Buying rough mounting brackets for a S2-55, 56, or 57 Chevy Pontiac spotlight involves weighing the pros and cons to determine if it's the best solution for your specific needs. Here's a breakdown of each:
Pros:1. Flexibility: Rough mounting brackets allow you to install the spotlight in various locations without drilling new holes in your vehicle. They can be attached to the body or other structural components using bolts or screws.
2. Reusability: If you need to move the spotlight to a different location or remove it entirely, rough mounting brackets make the process quick and easy.
3. Cost-effective: Rough mounting brackets are generally less expensive than other mounting options, such as permanent or wired brackets.
4. Universal fit: Many rough mounting brackets are designed to fit multiple vehicle makes and models, including the S2-55, 56, and 57 Chevy Pontiac.
Cons:1. Security: Since rough mounting brackets are not permanently attached to the vehicle, they may not provide the same level of security as wired or permanent mounts. There's a risk that the spotlight could become dislodged during rough driving conditions or accidents.
2. Durability: Rough mounting brackets may not be as durable as other mounting options, as they are exposed to the elements and can be subjected to vibrations and other stresses.
3. Installation: While rough mounting brackets are easier to install than wired or permanent mounts, they still require some level of mechanical skill and tools.
4. Aesthetics: The visible mounting brackets may not be as visually appealing as other mounting options, which could be a concern for some vehicle owners.
Conclusion:Rough mounting brackets for a S2-55, 56, or 57 Chevy Pontiac spotlight offer flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and universal fit. However, they may not provide the same level of security and durability as other mounting options. If you need a quick and easy solution for installing a spotlight on your vehicle without drilling new holes, rough mounting brackets could be a good choice. However, if you prioritize security and durability, you may want to consider other mounting options.
Recommendation:If you're looking for a flexible and cost-effective solution for mounting a spotlight on your S2-55, 56, or 57 Chevy Pontiac, rough mounting brackets could be a good option. However, if you prioritize security and durability, consider investing in wired or permanent mounting brackets instead. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific needs and budget.
This listing is for a Unity S2-55 spotlight in rough condition, but with some good parts. The handle is still pretty decent, with nice plastic and good chrome although not flawless. The bulb is there but poor looking, glass on it OK its all dirty inside and the wire came off of back, no way works as-is maybe can be redone. Whatever held the mirror lens and bezel in place is now completely missing.
I will NOT sell anything separately here so don't bother asking, its all or nothing. It does have an inner and outer mounting bracket to go through the windshield, they pits but aren't broken. The head doesn't move with the handle, its stuck, I didn't try to force it because want break but going need come apart anyway. This one is really rough but probably still steerable or would be great to fill in missing parts for another light.
The mirror lens is decent for used but not perfect, the black plastic bezel actually in really nice shape.
